Our position

Buy the Wonder Pack. Do not buy a Dash single unless the school already owns Dot and the accessory kit.

At roughly $280, the Wonder Pack includes Dash, Dot, and the launcher / xylophone / bulldozer / building-brick accessory set. Buying the same components separately is more expensive and arrives piecemeal. The accessories unlock the lesson plans - a Dash without the launcher cannot run the 'sink the shot in the target' lesson that hooks kids on day one.

The bundle is cheaper than the parts. That is Wonder Workshop's pricing strategy to get first-time buyers on the full accessory-plus-curriculum ecosystem in one purchase.

Why trust it: Vendor pricing, verifiable from the store page.

If you already have the accessory kit from a previous purchase, buying Dash singles to expand the fleet makes sense. The Wonder Pack's accessory value zeroes out when you already own the accessories.

Why trust it: Situational - valid when the accessories already exist.

Some teachers argue they only use Blockly + rolling and do not need the launcher, xylophone, or bulldozer bar at all. That is valid if the curriculum truly does not use them. For most elementary rotations, the accessories are where the memorable lessons live.

Why trust it: Valid for a narrow curriculum. Most elementary use cases benefit from the accessories.
